Black elderberry (Sambucus nigra) belongs to the Caprifoliaceae family and, among its various parts, the flowers and berries have been used for centuries to manage cold and flu symptoms. At 1,374 mg per 100 g, black elderberries rank among the top three fruits for anthocyanin content, compounds that have been shown to support immune function.

Echinacea is also a plant widely used in the United States and Europe to treat the common cold. In fact, the main use of echinacea relates to its ability to support the functioning of the upper respiratory tract.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a soluble vitamin that plays a central role and performs essential functions in the regulation of numerous biochemical reactions in the body: it helps to form collagen, allows the development and maintenance of bones, teeth, blood vessels and connective tissues, it is involved in synthesizing corticosteroid hormones and antibodies, and it is necessary for the absorption of dietary iron.

Zinc is a useful trace element for cold and infection prophylaxis; zinc deficiency is frequently observed in the over-50 population and may contribute to inflammatory oxidative aging and immunosenescence.

The standardized black elderberry extract in the formula is obtained through a solvent-free extraction process that preserves the fruit’s matrix effect. This technology has the advantage of maintaining the original taste, flavor and aromatic profile.

Anthocyanins: black elderberries are among the top three fruits in terms of anthocyanin content (mainly cyanidin-3-glucoside, cyanidin 3-sambubioside and cyanidin-3-sambubioside-5-glucoside).

Vitamin C: this is one of the most important vitamins for the body, which cannot synthesize it, so it must be consumed in the diet. Also, it does not accumulate and it is necessary to consume it constantly to keep blood levels stable.

Echinacosides: polyphenols naturally contained in the roots of echinacea.

Zinc: this antioxidant micronutrient is involved in the formation of many enzymes that catalyze important reactions in the body.  

Adults: 1-2 capsules, 2 times daily with water during meals. Children: 1 capsule daily with water during a meal.
