Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) is a next-generation form of vitamin B3; its metabolism is unique compared to other, more commonly used forms of vitamin B3, as it more effectively increases nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) levels. NAD+ is an essential factor in proper cellular energy metabolism. NAD+ plays a fundamental role in cellular repair mechanisms. In fact, NAD+ depletion is increasingly associated with aging, exposure to metabolic stress factors, and diseases.
