Present in many plant-based foodstuffs, anthocyanidins are powerful antioxidants that have several beneficial effects on cells and tissues, protecting the body from ageing.

In the ophthalmology sector, bilberry extract is used for its health-promoting effect, which is particularly implemented by strengthening the integrity of retinal capillaries.

Moreover, bilberry anthocyanidins are involved in cardiovascular protection. Some studies report that a diet rich in flavonoids, particularly in anthocyanidins, can reduce the risk of death associated with cardiovascular diseases.

In a study conducted on 20 patients, the daily administration of 250 mg of Mirtoselect® improved subjective symptoms, such as flashes of light, darkened vision, tired eyes and tearing in computer operators.
