Calcium in coral is mainly present as calcium carbonate.

There is a considerable difference between calcium of coral origin, which is organic, and inorganic calcium carbonate. In fact, the porosity of coral calcium (43%) exceeds that of inorganic calcium carbonate, and this endows coral calcium with specific physical and chemical characteristics.

Porosity favours extraction of a larger number of minerals when water is filtered through coral, allowing the concentration of a larger number of essential substances and micronutrients.

Coral calcium contained in this product comes only from the Caribbean islands. It is collected following strict rules that favour environmental protection and, therefore, is not a hazard for the marine ecosystem.
